PROFILE:

Markus Aspelmeyer is Professor of Physics at the University of Vienna and Scientific Director at the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (IQOQI) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna. He leads a research team at IQOQI working on quantum effects in micro- and nanomechanical systems.
