Place: sMR

PLUS+ TRAINING PROGRAM: Effective Oral Presentations

JEAN-LUC DOUMONT
Principiae

Strong presentation skills are a key to success for researchers, yet many speakers are at a loss to tackle the task. Systematic as they usually are in their work, they go at it intuitively or haphazardly, with much good will but seldom with an effective outcome. This workshop proposes a systematic way to prepare and deliver an oral presentation: it covers structure, slides, and delivery, as well as stage fright.

Bio:
An engineer from Louvain School of Engineering and a PhD in Applied Physics from Stanford University, Jean-luc Doumont is acclaimed worldwide for his no-nonsense approach, his highly applicable, often life-changing recommendations on a wide range of topics, and Trees, maps, and theorems and his book about “effective communication for rational minds.”
For additional information, visit www.principiae.be

If you are interested in participating, please register here by October 13

Participation is open to all ICFO researchers

Please, note that there are a limited number of slots available for this workshop. Preference will be given to 2nd and 3rd year’s PhD students, who have not previously attended a similar course, otherwise the course will be filled on a first-come first-served basis.
