Place: ICFO Auditorium
Sarah Hirthe & Rémy Vatré, ICFO
SPRING SCHOOL:
Title: "Quantum simulation with neutral atoms"
Abstract: In the past three decades, quantum gases have emerged as one of the leading platforms for quantum simulation. In this lecture, we will introduce the basic technologies and concepts of this field. Then, through a series of milestone examples, we will show how the cold atom community has been able to simulate increasingly complex quantum systems.
Bio: Sarah Hirthe and Rémy Vatré are postdoctoral researchers in the group of Leticia Tarruell at ICFO, where they work on exotic superfluid phases. Sarah did her PhD at the Max-Planck-Institute of Quantum Optics in Garching (Germany) and Rémy did his PhD at the Laboratoire Kastler-Brossel in Paris (France).
