All day
Place: Elements Room (Mir-Puig building)
Workshop NEXTSCREEN in microscopy and fluidics
This 4-day international school will cover topics including:
- Fundamentals of fluorescence microscopy
- Advanced microscopy modalities
- Light sheet fluorescence microscopy
- Pressure and flux pumping systems for microfluidics
- Lab and hands-on session
This school brings together PhD students from many institutes and offers a great opportunity for networking and scientific discussions.
Lectures:
- Valentina Caorsi (Abbelight)
- Sandrine Leveque Fort (ISMO-CNRS)
- Lisa Muiznieks (Microfluidic, ex Elvesys)
- Andrea Bassi (Polimi)
- Pablo Loza Alvarez (ICFO)
- Anna Plebani (Technology Transfer Office, Polimi)
About
Nextscreen “Training network for next-generation cellular screening” is a joint Doctoral Network supported by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) of Horizon Europe. The project aims to train and establish a network of doctoral researchers that will exploit the capabilities of the existing imaging flow cytometry (IFC) instruments and initiate the development of next-generation automatic and data-driven diagnostics tools.
This first workshop is being held at ICFO, focusing primarily on the fields of microscopy and fluidics:
In microscopy, will cover topics from the fundamental concepts of fluorescence microscopy to advanced microscopy modalities such as super-resolution. Additionally, lab and hands-on sessions will be conducted by the Super Resolution Light Microscopy and Nanoscopy (SLN) group.
In fluidics, the ELVESYS group, which specializes in developing cutting-edge microfluidics instruments, will explain the principles of pressure and flux pumping systems used in microfluidics.
Finally, there will be a conference on intellectual property protection, valorization, and exploitation by the technology transfer office of POLIMI.
