JOURNAL CLUB: To catch and reverse a quantum jump mid-flight

RICARDO GUTIERREZ-JAUREGUI

Ricardo's research expertise is on the field of quantum optics and quantum open systems, those that interact with a surrounding environment. Throughout his career, Ricardo has placed emphasis on using light to control and monitor quantum systems, providing theoretical support to frontier experiments across different platforms. He grew up in Mexico City where he completed the Bachelor and Master programs in Physics at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. He then moved to New Zealand to undertake his PhD at the University of Auckland under the supervision of Prof. Howard Carmichael. Afterwards, Ricardo held a Postdoctoral position a Texas A&M University where he worked with Marlan Scully and Girish Agarwal, before joining Columbia University of New York as a postdoctoral researcher with Ana Asenjo Garcia. Ricardo recently joined UNAM as an assistant professor.
