"Quantum simulation with neutral atoms"
Abstract:
In the past three decades, quantum gases have emerged as one of the leading platforms for quantum simulation. In this lecture, we will introduce the basic technologies and concepts of this field. Then, through a series of milestone examples, we will show how the cold atom community has been able to simulate increasingly complex quantum systems.
Bios:
Quentin Redon and Rémy Vatré are postdoctoral researchers in the group of Leticia Tarruell at ICFO. Quentin is building a quantum simulator of Rydberg strontium atoms to study lattice gauge theories, and Rémy studies exotic superfluid phases with potassium Bose-Einstein condensates. Both Quentin and Rémy did their PhD at the Laboratoire Kastler-Brossel in Paris (France).
