Optical solitons
We study the generation and manipulation of solitons in different nonlinear materials and settings, including cubic and quadratic nonlinear media, and optical lattices.
We explore different strategies aimed at the generation, manipulation and control of robust, self-sustained, non-dispersive paquets of light, termed “solitons” or “solitary waves”. We study the generation and manipulation of solitons in different nonlinear materials and settings, including cubic and quadratic nonlinear media, and optical lattices. The ultimate goal is the elucidation and demonstration of proof-of-principle soliton processing schemes, i.e., all optical switching and routing concepts based on the properties of soliton signals.
