GraphCAT joins the creative process of Fundació Èpica - Fura dels Baus

GraphCAT has started a collaboration with the La Fura dels Baus Epic Foundation, a center that brings together learning and experience derived from 40 years of creative work. Pep Gatell, president of the La Fura dels Baus Epic Foundation and artistic director of La Fura dels Baus, stated in a recent press conference that science "works on the future, trying to change it by contributing its knowledge". He also explained that the La Fura dels Baus Epic Foundation has been working for five years in anticipatory arts, creating false realities of possible or probable futures. "We must be in constant contact with the research centers that go hand in hand with science and technology: art cannot be left out of the equation and we want to create a basic research center in advanced arts ".

Through a series of "Epic Dialogues", researchers from the CERCA centers ICFO and ICN2, both members of the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) and partners of the GraphCAT community, talk to Pep Gatell and Nadala Fernández from the Foundation Epic La Fura dels Baus. In these informal discussions, they examine the creative processes and advances based on graphene.

The GraphCAT community is excited to participate in this unique collaboration with the La Fura dels Baus Epic Foundation that offers a new channel and method for explaining what we do: not only emphasizing scientific innovation but also how it is communicated.

These dialogues create the framework for collaboration in the new project with the La Fura dels Baus Epic Foundation on “Supervivència vs Resiliència”. This activity, which will take place from July 11 to 24, aims to respond to scientific challenges proposed for research groups through the performing arts.
