New ICFOnians
Eight ICFOnians joined the different ICFO research groups, units and facilities during the month of August. Welcome aboard!
Three Postdoctoral researchers, one PhD student, three students and one Human Resources and Education Staff member have joined ICFO during the month of August.
Slaven Tepsic recently defended his PhD at ICFO within the Quantum Nano Mechanics research group led by ICREA Prof Dr Adrian Bachtold, and will continue his research within the group as a Postdoctoral researcher.
Gaël Massé, who holds a PhD in Quantum Information at the University of Paris, joins ICFO as a Postdoctoral researcher in the Quantum Information Theory research group led by ICREA Prof Dr Antonio Acín. He will be focusing his research on the study of quantum phenomena with no classical analogue and application to quantum information protocols.
Katharina Chirvi received her PhD in Physics from the University of Hamburg-Germany, joins ICFO as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Attoscience and Ultrafast Optics research group led by ICREA Prof Dr Jens Biegert. She will focus her research on the dynamic imaging of complex molecular structures.
Sidney Palardonio, who holds a MSc in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Philippines, joins ICFO as a PhD student in the Organic Nanostructured Photovoltaics research group led by Prof Jordi Martorell. He will work on the LESGO project.
Birger Deserrano, who is working towards a European MSc in Photonics from the University of Gent, Belgium, joins ICFO as a student in the Optoelectronics research group led by ICREA Prof Dr Valerio Pruneri.
Aleksandra Deeva , who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, joins ICFO as a student in the Thermal Photonics research group led by Prof Dr Georgia Papadakis.
Cristian Tabares López , who is working towards a MSc in Theoretical Physics from la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, has joined the Theoretical Quantum-Nano Photonics research group led by ICREA Prof Dr Darrick Chang.
Rut Torner Viñals , has temporary joined the Human Resources and Education Unit to provide support in tasks related with academic affairs management.
