ICFO Professor Gerasimos Konstantatos awarded the TR35 Spain Prize 2012 The TR35 Prize is awarded annually by Technology Review.es, MIT’s online technology publication in Spanish. The object of this prize is to give worldwide recognition to the early achievements of outstanding young researchers whose work has the potential to transform the world of technology and business in the near future. Ten Prizes are awarded each year to individuals under the age of 35 chosen from distinguished candidates living in Spain. One of this year’s prizes goes to Nest fellow at ICFO, Professor Gerasimos Konstantatos.

Dr. Konstantatos leads the Solution-processed Nanophotonic devices group at ICFO, turning advances in nanoscience into solutions for real-world problems. This TR35 prize recognizes Dr. Konstantatos’s advances with quantum dots with which he has been able to produce photodetectors that are more sensitive to light, including non-visible infrared light, and are much cheaper to produce than current single-crystalline based detectors in the market today.

Congratulations Gerasimos!
