14 May 2013 Fresnel Prize 2013

Prof. Gerasimos Konstantatos

Prof. Gerasimos Konstantatos awarded the Fresnel Prize from the European Physics Society. The Fresnel Prize, awarded by the European Physics Society, recognizes the highest level of excellence amongst emerging researchers, under the age of 35, in the field of photonics. Every two years, the prize is awarded to a researcher dedicated to fundamental advances in photonics, as well as a researcher conducting applied research. This year the award for applied photonics has been presented to Prof. Gerasimos Konstantatos for his for his salient contributions to the science and technology of solution-processed quantum dots and their applications to a variety of optoelectronic devices with ground-breaking performances.

Prof. Konstantatos is a NEST Fellow at ICFO, with research made possible through the generous support of the Fundació Cellex Barcelona.

The prize was presented to Prof. Konstantatos at an award ceremony surrounded by peers from the international photonics community at the CLEO Europe - IQEC 2013 (Conference on Laser and Electro Optics and International Quantum Electronics Conference) held in Munich May 12-16.

Congratulations Gerasimos!
