Group led by Prof. Majid Ebrahim-Zadeh has 2 papers in the year’s list of most downloaded The Optical Society of America (OSA) is an important reference for the optics and photonics community, and publishes a number of topical journals, including Optics Letters, which comes out twice monthly, offering rapid dissemination of new results in all areas of optics with short, original, peer-reviewed communications.

The Optical Parametric Oscillators group led by ICREA Prof. at ICFO Majid Ebrahim-Zadeh has the distinction of authoring two of the most downloaded papers in OSA’s re-cap of the year’s most downloaded.

In the paper titled “Ultrafast optical vortex beam generation in the ultraviolet”, the researchers report on the generation of ultrafast vortex beams in the deep ultraviolet (DUV) wavelength range at 266 nm. The second paper titled “Fiber-laser-based, green-pumped, picosecond optical parametric oscillator using fan-out grating PPKTP”, reports on a stable, Yb-fiber-laser-based, green-pumped, picosecond optical parametric oscillator (OPO) for the near-infrared based on periodically poled potassium titanyl phosphate (PPKTP) nonlinear crystal, using fan-out grating design and operating near room temperature.
