Signadyne Spain S.L. was spun out of ICFO in February 2011. The new high tech company set up house at ICFO LaunchPad, and positioned itself in the field of virtual instrumentation. SIGNADYNE is devoted to developing and commercializing high performance electronics in the field of control, test and measurement, with applications in scientific research and industry. The company received financial support from Caixa Capital Risc, the venture capital arm of “la Caixa” and Fitalent, everis Group’s Investment Fund. In July 2016, Signadyne was acquired by Keysight Technologies, the American company that is world leader in test and measurement solutions.
The ICFOnians behind this venture are Dr. Marc Almendrosand Mr. Néstor Oliverio. Marc, Signadyne’s CEO, obtained his PhD at ICFO in September 2010 with a Thesis on Long-Distance Quantum Communication under the supervision of Prof. Jürgen Eschner. He also obtained an MBA from ESADE in 2011. Néstor worked as a research engineer at ICFO before helping to found Signadyne as its CTO.
