ICFO-OSA Student Chapter Weekly Colloquium MIGUEL NAVASCUÉS 'Bounding the set of quantum correlations'

Wednesday, June 27th, 17:00. Seminar Room
MIGUEL NAVASCUÉS
Quantum information theory
ICFO-The Institute of Photonic Sciences
SPAIN
In this talk I will address the question of determining whether the results of an experiment are compatible with the laws of quantum mechanics. Our approach will be to try to characterize the set Q of all possible correlations that can arise between several distant parties living in a universe governed by quantum physics. In this direction, I will show an infinite hierarchy of tests that have to be passed by any correlation belonging to Q and such that each of the tests can be implemented efficiently using well-known optimization techniques.
